Latest Updates from Our Project:

Project We Love! + Stretch Goals
9 months ago – Wed, Mar 06, 2024 at 09:13:16 PM

Hello! Today we were awarded "Project We Love!"

I don't always get the PWL badge on Kickstarter, but it's very nice when I do. It feels good to have Kickstarter recognize us as a great project!

We are currently 174% funded, so I wanted to take this opportunity to announce... stretch goals!

Stretch Goals

So far, we have three stretch goals planned:

$8,000 - Audio Commentary
If we hit this goal, Lorelei and I will record a 30 minute audio commentary about the book, free to all backers. We will talk about how we came up with the idea, our collaboration process, and our future plans for the book.

$12,000 - Trading Card
If we hit this goal, every physical backer will get a Vera trading card (art to be revealed). I love doing trading cards for campaigns, and it would be awesome to add Dragon Grit cards to the collection.

$16,000 - Bonus Content
If we hit this goal, we will add four pages of bonus content to the back of the book, including character bios, concept art, and more. This content will be added to both the digital and physical versions of the book.

I have high hopes that we can smash all of these stretch goals. Thank you so much for your early support. Let's keep it going!

Before I go for today, I wanted to tell you about a fantastic campaign that has less than two days left on Kickstarter:

Horus in Hell #1-2

Horus in Hell is an incredible comic by my very good friend Allen Dunford. It's about a bunny from hell who loves to kill things. It's actually a spin-off of Pocus Hocus, one of my favorite indie comics of all time.

Here's the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/allenandwill/horus-in-hell-1-2-a-demented-saturday-morning-cartoon

I hope you'll check it out - as of this update there are only 45 hours left on the campaign.

Thanks,

Caleb

Funded!

Hi! We did it. Day one, we soared past our funding goal. Thank you so much.

Not only did we beat our funding goal, but we also set a personal record for me for number of backers on day one. My previous record was 207 on a Unicorn: Vampire Hunter campaign. As I am typing this update, we are at 210, with five hours to spare!

I was super nervous going into this campaign because it is a brand new project, but you all showed up in a big way. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Who's that beautiful mist dragon? And who is that young man in the background? Starting with the next update, I'll be doing character reveals, going in depth with each character (and their dragons).

Until then, I have another fantasy western campaign I wanted to give a shoutout to:

The Few and Cursed: Hidden Away

The wildly successful fantasy western comic series The Few and Cursed  is back on Kickstarter, and they only have a couple of days left. The campaign ends on Thursday. They have already raised over $38k, but they are looking to hit one last stretch goal.

Project link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/felipecagno/the-few-and-cursed-hidden-away

From the campaign page:

"A supernatural post-apocalyptic Western if the apocalypse had happened back in 1840 and opened up the doors to all sorts of monsters, curses and demons. One day the world just dried up and whatever little water that was left, being now the most precious resource on the planet, started to be used as currency.

The Few and Cursed is a fast-developing comic book universe that started almost ten years ago with a Curse Chaser known only as the Redhead and then went on to publish over a dozen books so far."

That's it for today, but I'll be back again soon with more updates. Thank you so much from the whole team, including Caleb, Lorelei, Kay, and Dave.
